How To Create a Competition on BettorEdge

Creating a competition on BettorEdge is quick and straightforward. In just five simple steps, you can set up an exciting contest for friends or the entire BettorEdge community without high fees like traditional betting platforms.

To create a competition:

1. Navigate to the Competitions section
2. Click the "Manage" button, then "Create New" and enter with the following details for your competition

Step 1: Competition Info Basics

Set up the fundamental structure of your competition:

• Competition Name: Choose something descriptive like "NFL Week 15 Pick'em" to attract participants
• Competition Description: Details for individuals to know more about the competition
• Competition Image: Add your own branding for exposure/fun
• Visibility Options:
  • Private: Requires a passcode or invitation (perfect for friend groups)
  • Public: Available to all BettorEdge users

Step 2: Competition Details

• For Money or Free to Play: Select whether you want paid entry or free to enter.
• Ticket Price: Entry amount for contestants
• Competition Payout Options:
  • Battle Royale: Winner takes all
  • Double Up: Top 50% of participants double their entry fee
  • Outpace: Choose a "Pacer" - everyone who beats them splits the pot
  • Podium Payout (Top 3)
  • Top 10 Payout
• Max Tickets: Set a limit on the number of participants

Step 3: Select Events and Markets

• Sports Selection: Choose which leagues or sports to include
• Pick Market Types: Limit the bet types (Winner, Margins/Spread, Total Points) or Player Markets
• use Select "All" to grab every event in your chosen sport for that day or select each event individually

Step 4: Final Competition Settings

• Competition Type: 
• Pick-Em:  Simple format where correct picks earn points regardless of odds
• Set Max Picks for the Pick-em
• Wager Competition:  Strategic format where each player allocates a 1,000 balance across different events with payouts based on odds
• Set Starting Balance for Wager Competition
• Start Time Parameter: Select the time period of the last entrant available to play
• Use the Earliest Contest Time to allow for contestants to have an even slate of games to choose from
• Use the Latest Contest Time to allow for contestants to have more time to enter.
